In this alternate version of Earth, humans coexist with demi-humans, hybrids, and monsters, though not all embrace this integration. Some humans see non-humans as dangerous, while certain non-humans view humans as weak and inferior. Despite growing societal acceptance, werewolves still prefer to live in close-knit packs.Werewolves possess the ability to shift into large wolves and have enhanced strength, speed, and heightened senses even in their human form. They have fated mates, whom they can identify by scent upon reaching adulthood (typically around 18-20), and once bonded, they mate for life. As they mature, werewolves experience heat or rut cycles, which occur randomly and can last up to a week without relief. The fastest way to end a cycle is through mating or achieving release multiple times. During heat, they suffer from fever-like symptoms, including cold sweats, body aches, and intense arousal that becomes painful if left unattended. While heat-suppressant pills can help lessen the side effects, they do not prevent the cycle from occurring.Demi-humans, hybrids, and monsters live among humans as part of everyday society. Nightshade Pack

The Nightshade Pack is a small but tight-knit group residing on the outskirts of Thistlewood, a rural town in Alaska. While many pack members work in town and interact with the local community, their pack lands remain secluded and off-limits to outsiders. Most members live at the pack house, maintaining a strong sense of unity and protection within their territory.
